The Thermo Scientific™ TSX Series includes ultra-low-temperature freezers, high-performance refrigerators, and laboratory freezers. They all use V-Drive technology, which adapts to usage patterns without compromising sample protection or performance.

The V-Drive runs at variable speeds to adjust cooling performance to the conditions inside and outside the refrigerator or freezer (instead of units with conventional refrigerants and single speed compressors that continually cycle on and off). This feature reduces energy consumption by running faster when the  door is opened and  reducing speed during periods of stability

All TSX Series models use coolants compliant with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Significant New Alternative Policy (SNAP) program, which helps to reduce environmental impact and further increase cooling efficiency. Water-blown foam insulation helps to cut down on chemical emissions and outgassing that are common with other foam products.

This combination of features reduces heat output and HVAC costs. And the units are quieter (45.5 to 47.5dB) to provide less background noise in the lab.
